Biography
Scott Davison is the founder of Davison IP and focuses on intellectual property law, including patents, trademarks, copyrights and trade secrets.
With more than 18 years of experience, Scott has prosecuted patents in numerous technology fields, including software, medical devices, bioinformatics, telecommunications, networking, semiconductors, engines, materials science, signal processing, imaging, optics, consumer electronics and mobile devices.
In addition to his patent experience, Scott has worked on hundreds of U.S. and international trademark applications covering individual marks and large portfolios.
Prior to founding Davison IP, Scott was Senior Counsel in the intellectual property practice group of a large San Diego business law firm. He previously worked for one of the largest patent prosecution boutique firms based in Washington D.C., and at a small Los Angeles area intellectual property boutique.
Scott has counseled individuals, startups, universities and publicly-traded corporations on matters including patent and trademark portfolio strategy and development, infringement risks, diligence reviews, clearance and validity opinions.
Scott received his J.D. from Pepperdine University School of Law and his B.S. in Biomedical Science from Texas A&M University. He resides in Carlsbad with his wife and son.
